The Danish studio Norm Architects has created cabinets that are made to absorb noise.
These were created for the Swedish brand Zilenzio. They wanted a product to take away unnecessary sound while at the same time be nice to look at.
The cabinets are covered in fabric. The idea was for the fabric to take up certain frequencies of sound to create a more pleasant environment; especially in environments where you need to focus and a lot of people move around.
The need for these kind of furnitures have grown in Scandinavian. More and more offices are making open-plan offices and the need to absorb noise is more important.
Brands like Baux and Offecct are also developing products that are sound absorbing. These companies are focusing on the office world. Meanwhile, Norm Architects have created furnitures that goes just as well in your home. How great isn’t that?
