Combining wood and steel in pieces of furniture

The British designer Jasper Morrison has for some time worked for the Japanese brand Maruni. His latest design mixes wood together with steel, a combination that both contrast and blend very well.

Japser himself says that it is not unusual to mix wood together with steel, but he realised that by adding steel in the middle of the chair, between the wooden parts and with colours, it would give a new and fresh impression.

The collection, T&O, has gotten its name from the resemblance of the letters T and O. The T is for the crossbar and the O is for the roundness. The designer like the way the round shapes contrast the square tops.
