Architects and designers around Los Angeles have created shelters for homeless cats in the city. It is part of the annual Giving Shelter fundraiser for FixNation – for the Architects for Animals charity based in the city.
There are 13 outdoor shelters that will be auctioned online to raise money for the organisation, which offers spay and neuter services to feral, abandoned and stray cats. Los Angeles has the highest number of stray cats in the US.
Some of the ideas with these shelters include:
Tubes criss-cross at a central point where the cats can walk up the holes and tip them over.
A large ball of woven string with a hole where the cats can crawl in.
A coil-shaped shelter using a series of wooden grids.
